No, you have to take to a bank, credit union, then change them all at once they have reached their maturity, do not earn more interest, they retain their value if they do not like losing money if it is not effective. . Simply not interested.

Do not take to the bank for redemption

I have a few years of U.S. bonds, the mother of three different lawyers said Stack was worthless, which is supposedly a face value of over $ 20,000. The lawyers told me that since the names of family members of bonds were all dead, and other complications that would have a higher value than bonds on a permit.

After this experience, I * never * buy U.S. bonds.

The obligations are historically a return on investment is very high, but they are safe. I have some who in recent years, but I decided to hang anyway. certainly not lost money in the now and the stock market as volatile as it is today, would be a good time to hang up on them!

I doubt it. You have to change I'm no expert, but I think that's how it works.
